Fruit Of The Spirit - Gentleness

Bringing about gentleness is not something most of us typically think about as we start our day.  As we arm ourselves with "to do" lists and get up for the hurry of the day, being gentle doesn't usually figure into the busy ways of our lives.

The true nature of gentleness involves humility and thankfulness toward God and polite and restrained behavior towards others.  The opposite of gentleness is anger.  Why choose anger, when we can choose gentleness?  Doesn't the word itself "gentleness" feel good?  Being gentle, leads to being calm and being at peace.

It is in the calm and peace of mind that we can hear God's whisper.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joypeace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

This week, my intention will focus on gentleness.
