Yesterday I talked about how I got started blogging. Blogging is an outlet that allows me to be creative. Whether I'm painting, writing or making a new video, I'm having fun. It makes me happy.
It's important for all of us to have some kind of outlet. I know, many of us are super busy and time is limited. Trying new things shakes up our routine. It allows us to feel differently for a short time and allows new things to come into our lives.
If you do the same thing everyday...expect the same results. It's like diet and exercise. If you've been doing the same workout (or no workout) and eating the same way, you are going to weigh and look exactly like you do now - tomorrow. Your body gets use to the routine. For a different result, you have to do something different.
Bring something new into your life! It can be as simple as cutting out white sugar and processed foods for a week, taking a walk every night after dinner or joining a new class of some kind. Whatever you do, try something that has the chance to make a difference in your life. Try it....who cares if it doesn't work out or you don't like it? You might even laugh a bit along the way. You might also have an "ahhhaaa" moment and find something new you really like.
If you want to try blogging. I use blogger.com. It is simple and easy and you can be blogging within 15 minutes. Seriously. Here is a quick step by step to get started:
If you don't have a google account you can create one here.
To start a blog with Blogger, visit the Blogger.com homepage, enter your username and password (that you just created with google) and click Sign In. Enter a display name and accept Blogger's Terms of Service. Then click on Create a Blog link and get started!
Pick an address (URL) and blog title. Then choose your favorite blog template (how you want your blog to look when you publish it). Then you can get creative and customize how your blog looks. Or, just start blogging.
Blogger has a great help site too. If you want to do anything to your blog, ask the help site. Trust me when I tell you that you can find out how to do everything either through blogger or through google. Bloggers love to help bloggers get started and solve their problems. Have fun!
I do not pay for my blog. It is free. There are sites that charge you to host their site and they offer different things. But for now if you want to try blogging, go for it!
